Battery choice depends on roof layout, phase configuration, backup-power priority, warranty and cycle life. We'll match the system to your actual goals, not a fixed bundle.

How we design

The four questions we answer before sizing anything.

1. What's your load profile?

Half-hourly smart-meter data where available. EV charging habits. Hot water timing. If a heat pump is in the plan, we model its winter draw.

2. What's the roof actually capable of?

Orientation, pitch, shading, structural load, and whether you want in-roof (integrated) or on-roof mounting.

3. How much resilience do you want?

Grid-tied only, partial backup of key circuits, or whole-home island-mode capability — each changes the inverter/battery spec.

4. What are we planning for in 2–5 years?

Second EV? Heat pump retrofit? Home extension? We size the DNO application and consumer unit headroom now so you don't redo works later.

Before you commit the roof.

Do I need south-facing roof?

Ideal, but east/west splits work well — often better for self-consumption against morning and evening loads.

What payback should I expect?

Varies with load profile and battery, but typically 7–12 years on a well-sized domestic system — faster with EV and heat pump in the mix.

Is export still worth it?

Smart Export Guarantee rates vary; we'll model both self-consumption and export to show the real number.

Can I add battery later?

Yes if the inverter is hybrid-ready. We flag it at design stage so you're not stuck with AC-only retrofits.
