What a home EV charger job includes.

- Supply assessment, main fuse check, consumer-unit headroom.

- 7 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase where supply allows.
- Cable run
- Clipped, ducted or trenched — neat routing discussed and agreed before works.
- Protection
- Type A/B RCD, integrated earth fault protection (PEN fault where required).

- Scheduling, tariff optimisation, solar-follow, load-balancing where supported.
- Commissioning
- Full test, app pairing, handover with certificate and notification to DNO/Building Control.

How long does install take?
Typical home install is 3–6 hours once the charger is on site. Cable runs longer than 10 m may add time.
Do I need a separate circuit?
Yes — always a dedicated circuit from the consumer unit with its own protective devices.
Can I charge from solar?
Yes with a compatible charger (Zappi, Ohme, Hypervolt, Tesla with Powerwall). We'll configure solar-follow at commissioning.
What about an EV tariff?
Most customers switch to Intelligent Octopus or similar — the charger schedules off-peak windows automatically once paired.
